A revision of the programme and planning of the ITER nuclear fusion experiment

18 June 2008
The ITER Organisation announced on 18 June that the programme and planning of the ITER nuclear fusion experiment have been rescheduled. The new schedule expects the ITER experiment to begin in 2018, a change of two years compared with the original plan. Furthermore, a decision has been reached to begin formal negotiations with Kazakhstan in order to determine the conditions under which that country would become the eighth participant in the ITER project.
