Two-photon interband absorption has been investigated as a function of power and wavelength from 20 mum to 36 mum. The expected quadratic dependence of the two-photon induced conductivity on laser intensity is observed. This nonlinear effect is used to perform autocorrelation experiments vielding the length of the micropulses of the free electron laser on a femtosecond time scale.}, year = {1993}, journal = {Nuclear Instruments & Methods in Physics Research Section a-Accelerators Spectrometers Detectors and Associated Equipment}, volume = {331}, number = {1-3}, pages = {254-256}, month = {Jul 1}, isbn = {0168-9002}, doi = {10.1016/0168-9002(93)90053-k}, language = {eng}, }
