items of previous meetings. Remarks in blue have been made during the previous thirteen TG meetings, respectively. Remarks in red have been made at the 14th meeting. 11a249: SWG on First Mirrors to try to develop picture where we are in the field of mirror research, and where we want to go (i.e a roadmap). Roadmap has been detailed and further developed in break out session. Activity on-going. Ongoing/focus on short term development of workplan. 12a269: Kumar/Kaur/Ghosh to make analysis of the Int. Diagnostic Database. Analysis is underway. First preliminary results presented at this meeting. Donné to give some recommendations to the Indian scientist for further analysis. Still to be done. 13a272: NWG to set up strategy for MCNP calculations in order to try to minimize the time needed for calibration and how the support structure can be corrected for and (+recommendation to do calculations). Continued activity. 13a274: Mirror WG to identify the various mirror clusters and to recommend baseline solutions for each of them on the basis of present knowledge. Still to be done. Urgent activity. 13a275: Mirror WG to review candidate mitigation methods and to identify the most promising ones for further development. Still to be done. 13a276: Ericsson/NWG to assess the performance of various neutron spectroscopy techniques (MPR, TPR, ToF) for various sizes of the FW aperture of 50/100/150 mm. Continued activity. 13a284: Lyublin/NPA designers to assess the performance of the NPA when the collimator is scaled down to a 100 mm diameter tube. Ongoing. 13a285: Spectroscopy WG to assess whether the NPA systems can still measure the fuel-mix ratio in the presence of beams and to assess the prospects that the NPA system can give routine measurements of the fuel-ion ratio. Ongoing. 14a288: Andrew/Donné/Costley to circulate the proposed changes to the measurement requirements for the SOL/DIV measurements to the TG members to review before giving feedback to the SOL/DIV TG. 14a289: Orsitto/Donné/Costley to circulate the proposed changes to the measurement requirements for the fast ion measurements to the TG members to review before giving feedback to the SSO TG. 14a290: Donné/Costley to make recommendations for adaptations in the charters of the Specialists Working Groups. 14a291: Reflectometry WG to prepare a "position paper" on LFS measurement requirements to help guide the LFS system design. 14a292: Reflectometry WG to investigate and assess options for Refl./ECE protection from stray ECRH radiation and to summarize known experience by survey of present machines. 14a293: Radiation Effects WG to distribute the access details of the Radiation Effects Database to the TG members and all SWG members and ask them to respond on the structure and contents of the database. 14a294: SWG on Beam-Aided Spectroscopy to make an assessment of electric field measurements from toroidal/poloidal rotation measurements. 14a295: Spectroscopy WG to work on standardisation of straylight/reflection calculations. 14a296: Neutron WG in consultation with ITER IO to make an assessment of the equipment needed in the Neutron Test Area. 14a297: Donné/Costley to submit proposal for the 15th TG Meeting to ITPA-CC. Done. 14a298: Vasu to make necessary provisions for the 15th TG Meeting.
Recommendations 12r003: Parties should make modeling calculations of the CX flux on first mirrors. This is very important for a better understanding of the mirror experiments and support for mirror modelling work. 12r005: EU Party to give a demonstration of the synchrotron emission measurements at JET. Can probably be done with the new JET-EP endoscope, maybe with some limitations. 13r006: The Parties are encouraged to develop real-time algorithms for simultaneous feedback control of the profiles of multiple plasma parameters. 13r007: The Parties are recommended to give successful proof-of-principle demonstrations of the proposed divertor diagnostics in present day devices. Specific examples of the measurement needs and possible diagnostics are in the presentation by G Vayakis given at the 1st TG meeting. 14r010: Reflectometer specialists in the Home Teams to demonstrate real-time feedback of the plasma position by means of reflectometry. 14r011: Spectroscopists in the Home Teams to develop strategies to ensure that measurements of Zeff will be not perturbed by molecular bands. 01r012: It is recommended that the ITER relevant systems that are candidate for implementation on JET – especially Fast Wave Reflectometry, CTS below the cyclotron frequency, and High Resolution Neutron Spectrometry by the Thin-Foil Proton Recoil (TPR) technique - are implemented. 02r014: Other TGs to assess differences between turbulence rotation and fluid rotation, impurity rotation. Do we need to know the differences? What are particular needs? 05r019: System designers to send their conceptual designs to Walker to check whether the assumptions, designs, geometries they use are still up to date with the latest ITER designs. 05r020: Parties to apply multiplexing IR thermography in a present device. 05r021: US Party to test the hybrid steady state magnetic field measurement in laboratory and in a tokamak. 06r022: JET to check whether the confined alphas can be studied by means of the double charge exchange reaction using a positive ion DNB. 09a024: The effect of the shape of ducts in front of diagnostics first mirrors should be tested at a present day device (or in laboratory). 09r026: JET to maintain the VUV port, since the testing of the various systems is essential for ITER. 12r027: All parties to seriously address diagnostic development work for BPX environment. 13r028: US PT to join the benchmarking of reflectometry simulation codes. 13r029: Party Teams to study whether asymmetries in the fast ion population can be expected under the action of combined RF and NBI heating and due to fast ion instabilities, and additionally to evaluate the impact on the neutron emission profile. 14030: F4E to discuss with the relevant bodies under what provisions the Radiation Effects Database can be made available to external Parties 14r031: ITER partners to continue the generic Ceramic Materials Irradiation Programme and include specific urgent irradiations tests needed to qualify diagnostic components. 14r032: PTs to perform MCNP calculations in order to evaluate minimum time needed for neutron calibration. 14033: JA PT in collaboration with ITER IO to include the magnetics equilibrium into the feasibility study of the polarimeter to assess the value of the upper port channels.
