All enquires regarding the UK programme at FELIX should, in the first instance, be directed towards the coordinator, Prof. Ben Murdin.

For "non-proprietary" research there is no financial charge made either for the use of FELIX beamtime or for the use of the scientific equipment available to the users.  Further, under the FOM-EPSRC agreement, the provision for the supply of liquid helium and liquid nitrogen is also made at no cost to the user.  The user is responsible for travel and living costs whilst over here (i.e. accomodation and meals).  The FOM institute here at "Rijnhuizen" owns a guest house which can accomodate up to 3 people for around 20 euros per room per night (plus a one-off fee of around 25 euros).  Along with the boom in low-cost airlines (Amsterdam airport, Schiphol, is a very popular destination), and subject to availability of guest house accomodation, the costs for the UK user can be minimised.

A guide for travelling to Holland from the UK can be found here (coming soon).

If you think that you would like to use FELIX but don't qualify as a "UK User" then you should contact the FELIX management.
