Tungsten under plasma loads
Nuclear fusion is a promising way to address the global energy challenge. Tungsten is used to handle the extreme fusion exhaust, the performance of which is critical to the viability of nuclear fusion. In his thesis Yu Li explores the thermo-mechanical behavior of tungsten under fusion-relevant hydrogen plasma loads using the unique linear plasma device Magnum-PSI.
