Dynamic Behavior of the Em Field in Free-Electron Lasers

| Abstract |
Several results of both numerical and analytical calculations of the laser field in a free electron laser (FEL) are presented. In order to interpret the results, a decomposition of the field into Gauss-Laguerre modes is made. Special attention is given to the development in time of these different modes at high and low electron beam currents. |
