Getting the DICE rolling: DIFFER Irradiation Corrosion Experiment

"Thorizon has the privilege of being the first industrial user of the DICE facility at DIFFER in Eindhoven: a world-class facility designed to advance molten salt reactor development. The facility uses a high-energy proton beam to cause radiation damage in materials, instead of using neutrons. This approach simulates the damage that occurs in a reactor core while exposing the material to molten salt, and it does so more affordably and efficiently than neutron irradiation. By subjecting the material to both radiation and a molten salt environment, the DICE uniquely studies how these factors interact, mimicking the harsh conditions inside a molten salt reactor."
