30 November: abstract deadline for water splitting workshop

Published on November 03, 2022

On Thursday 26 January 2023, DIFFER hosts a one-day workshop on continuum modeling in energy applications, in particular in the field of water splitting. The workshop is now open for registration and for abstract submissions. Deadline is 30 November.

The workshop is organized in the European research program "Computational materials sciences for efficient water splitting with nanocrystals from abundant elements" (COST Action 18234)

Presentations can span from atomistic (e.g. solvation models), interface (e.g. microkinetic models), up to component/device level modeling. In the frame of multiscale modeling of energy interfaces and energy systems, it is important to work on all these 3 levels, have the tools available to do simulations and to work on connecting to other time and length scales. Presentations on combining the modeling with uncertainty and sensitivity analysis are welcome as well.

In this workshop we want to:
- get an overview of current activities in this field in Europe.
- summarize the methods and codes that are available.
- and brainstorm about what is needed in the future to contribute successfully to the energy transition.
