Workshop on Continuum Modeling in Energy Applications

Thursday, January 26, 2023
DIFFER, Eindhoven, the Netherlands

On Thursday 26 January 2023, DIFFER hosts a one-day workshop on continuum modeling in energy applications, in particular in the field of water splitting. The deadline open for registration and abstract submissions is 30 November. The workshop is organized in the European research program "Computational materials sciences for efficient water splitting with nanocrystals from abundant elements" (COST Action 18234)

Presentations can span from atomistic (e.g. solvation models), interface (e.g. microkinetic models), up to component / device level modeling. In the frame of multiscale modeling of energy interfaces and energy systems, it is important to work on all these 3 levels, have the tools available to do simulations and to work on connecting to other time and length scales. Presentations on combining the modeling with uncertainty and sensitivity analysis are welcome as well.

In this workshop, we want to get an overview on current activities in this field in Europe, summarize the methods and codes that are available, and to brainstorm about what is needed for the future to contribute successful to the energy transition.

The workshop is organized in the frame of the COST Action 18234. It is open for members of the action, but also for participants outside the action. If you are not part of the action, but want to join the workshop and apply for financial support on travelling and accommodation, please contact COST [28] differ [368] nl.

For registration visit the COST workshop registration. Deadline for registration and abstract submission is November 30, 2022.
