What does a Dutch fundamental energy research institute look like from the inside? With DIFFER's virtual tour it's possible to take a look inside the building whenever and wherever you want. To give you the full experience, recently multiple research labs have been added to the tour.
DIFFER's virtual tour (also called '360 degrees tour') not only allows visitors to see parts of the building, also the research facilities can be visited virtually. With brief explanations in the various rooms, you will learn more about DIFFER's research infrastructure, such as Magnum-PSI and DICE. To give the virtual tour an extra 'fun factor', a number of hidden gems can be found in the tour.
What's new?
To give you a more complete overview of the institute, in 2025 multiple new images of research labs have been added to the tour:
- Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD): DIFFER's thin film deposition and characterization facility PLD4Energy
- Artificial leaf lab: material synthesis (electrochemical reactors and membrane electrode assemblies) and process evaluation
- Electrochemical materials laboratory
This revamped version also shows some of DIFFER's materials characterization equipment:
- X-ray diffraction (XRD)
- Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
- Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your device (the virtual tour works best on a computer or laptop), jump into DIFFER's virtual tour and enjoy your visit. You are most welcome!
