Trouw national newspaper interviewed DIFFER's director Richard van de Sanden about the possible role for Solar Fuels in connection to stopping natural gas production in Groningen. The article resulted in a radio interview on the same day on national public radio NPO Radio 1.

With a research grant from the NWO program on Materials for Sustainability Mat4Sus, computational scientist Süleyman Er (DIFFER) and his research team will develop new battery materials for stationary electrical energy storage.

From 16-21 November 2017, DIFFER participated in the sixth edition of the Fusion Days at Antwerp University for some 3750 high school students and teachers. DIFFER's Fusion Road Show with its live experiments was again well received as the central event for the Fusion Days.
