Combining the beneficial properties of catalysts and non-thermal plasmas

Published on January 21, 2022

Researchers of three DIFFER groups have contributed to a new publication in Nature Communications. The research focuses on combining the properties of catalysts and non-thermal plasmas to optimize the productivity and energy efficiency of nitrogen oxidation. The work was done in collaboration with researchers at the University of Notre Dame (USA). The DIFFER scientists involved were Stefan Welzel (Solar Fuels Facilities and Instrumentation), Richard van de Sanden (Plasma Solar Fuels Devices), Rakesh Sharma and Mihalis Tsampas (Catalytic and Electrochemical Processes for Energy Applications).
