Lizan Kivits DISC prize March 2025
Postdoctoral researcher Lizan Kivits has won the prestigious DISC PhD Thesis Award 2024, securing the 3rd prize for her outstanding research. The award was presented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ming Cao on behalf of the Dutch Institute for Systems and Control (DISC) committee during the annual Benelux Meeting on 20 March 2025.

Prize Richard van de Sanden
During the 17th International Symposium on Advanced Plasma Science and its Applications for Nitrides and Nanomaterials (ISPlasma2025) and the 18th International Conference on Plasma-Nano Technology & Sciences (IC-PLANTS2025), EIRES director and DIFFER group leader Richard van de Sanden has been awarded the Plasma Materials Science Hall of Fame Prize for 2024.
Ion Beam Facility
The province of North Brabant is investing nearly €4 million in the further development of a new generation of nuclear reactors. A consortium of companies Thorizon, VDL Groep and DEMCON will work in Brabant over the next few years to develop and test crucial components for a molten salt reactor.
