A consortium of Dutch technology companies – DEMCON, Thorizon, and VDL Group – signed a project agreement last December. Their shared mission: to achieve a breakthrough in the development of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), specifically molten salt reactors. DIFFER supports the development of these reactors through its unique DICE research facility.
France 2030
DIFFER partner Thorizon has been included in the French government’s nuclear innovation program called France 2030. In addition to the grant, the program provides access to expertise in nuclear research, European legislation, and business development.

Gedeputeerde Martijn van Gruijthuijsen van de Provincie Brabant voltrok de de officiële opening van DICE, het DIFFER Irradiation-Corrosion Experiment. De proeven in deze nieuwe onderzoeksfaciliteit brengen kernenergie via inherent veilige thoriumreactoren een stap dichterbij. Het evenement was op 25 oktober 2023.

Wetenschappers van DIFFER brengen kernenergie via inherent veilige thoriumreactoren een stap dichterbij. Met DICE (het DIFFER Irradiation-Corrosion Experiment) gaan zij materialen ontwikkelen die bestand zijn tegen de combinatie van warmte, zout en straling.
